

Rift Apart is a quintessential Ratchet & Clank experience, in the sense that it does not take all that many risks by the license's standards. For the most part, Insomniac's title survived the transition in one piece, ensuring the franchise presented a good foot forward as it introduced itself to a new audience. Jump forward two years and Rift Apart earned a PC release, an exciting prospect that could have turned disastrous if it followed in the footsteps of some other PlayStation ports like The Last of Us Part 1.

The game looked beautiful, played fantastically, and barely had any load times. In 2021, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launched on the PS5, serving as one of the console's most impressive showcases.
